While thinking of the future of the new media, we decided to have a closer look at the Smart TV interfaces. Both novices and experienced Smart TV users took part in the research incorporating three different methods: user tests, diary studies and cultural probe. We were trying to find out whether Smart TV is truly smart.

The report describing the research process and the results was accompanied by the recommendations for the designers and manufacturers, considering both Smart TV itself and applications available on the platform. Dozens of the participants' quotes, photographs and screenshots are a valuable source of know-how for designers and everyone interested in new technologies.
